Vee-Berth overhaul

Good to be back on the boat after a trip to Ireland and some other stuff.

On our last boat the Vee-berth (aka the Pizza Oven) was our main sleeping area.  On TIH we have an aft cabin for ourselves and a big saloon for occasional guests.  I, therefore, to not feel the need for an extra sleeping area in the bow.    I have gotten the reluctant approval of the boss to convert the vee-berth to a storage / workshop area.  Any alterations will be removable in case any future owner will want it to revert back to sleeping accommodation.

We refer to the V-berth as "the garage". Never seen a V-berth on any boat that wasn't

Thanks Joe. Rob, totally agree, I hate to see hundreds of dollars of cushion and fabric being compressed by bicycles, tool kits, fenders and all the other stuff.

Yeah! Gerry's back!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I have thought numerous times there's a lot of wasted space up there. Certainly the MATTRESS we bought for the V-birth was a waste of money considering how often it is used for anything besides padding for bikes and other crap.

Our v-berth is our basement. We have been leaving stuff at every dingy dock that we come to. We still have to much stuff, but our water line on our bow is rising.....so this saying good buy to Stuff is working forus.
Still floating, S/V Sinbad
