Arch has arrived in Miami....

Someone must look after sailors and stupid people.   After a 300 mile highway journey at speeds reaching 70MPH, the pin fell out of the tow hitch at 2MPH, 1/2 mile from our marina.  Two minutes of a three stooges routine and a screwdriver got us back on the road.

Damn you Mr. eBay.....

I just bought this (the arch, not the boat);

Now I just have to move it from North Florida to Miami and install it.

Atkins & Hoyle Ltd. Arches...????

Ignoring the hardtop/bimini section in the lower photo, are these archs too industrial looking? They claim that their arches are about 50% of a welded one (e.g. $5K for Wells).

I want an arch to support my Kato davits, hold a wind generator and possibly a solar panel or two.

Damn you Pompano Beach Nautical Flea Market...

I had reconciled myself to an expensive arch on the stern of TIH. This would have included built in dinghy davits. THEN I was lured to Pompano Beach Nautical Flea Market.

$625 lighter I was the proud owner of these Kato Davits;

Now to redesign the arch to include them.

The arch / dinghy hoist on our last boat...

As they say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".... but it worked.
