Small upgrades.....

My bowsprit did not come with a bob-stay, that had to be ordered separately.  I'm not even going to discuss the cost but if I ever sell the boat I'm taking it with me.

Moved into a bigger storage area in the yard.  This is how much space an exploded Whitby 42 takes up.

I gotta do a bobstay too. Soon. Going to do rod too. Did you source your parts from Port Supply? Thats the source my rigger quoted. Thinking about doing it myself.

The ends came from Navtec as they are the only ones that will certify in that size (that I've found). The rod was machined through a local company, Sailing Services, in 316 SS. The whole shebang came to $1K and change, but the bow will come apart before it fails.

If you guys are doing bobstays, I would recommend making the bottom connect to a very robust plate at or just above the waterline, with a second hole that can carry a waterline rode snubber. I'm sure both of you have already in fact done this, but it's one of the neater things the P.O. on my cutter had from the outset.
